| Science Presentation |
Yesterday, a woman named Christine from the Toronto Zoo came to our class after our lunch/recess period and she did a presentation about all the turtles from Ontario. She even brought a blind turtle named Honzo(the turtle had an infection in its eyes so they took the poor turtle's eyes out and sewn its eyelids shut.) It was so cute. Because its blind,Honzo only likes quiet places. We are a usually noisy class(they are, not me) so we stayed quiet.
Facts:
-Turtles from Ontario are either in special concern or threatened positions.
-You can't keep turtles from Ontario in your house because they are prepared to hibernate in the winter and if they stay in the house, the heat that they store will cause them to overheat. You can keep turtles from Florida though.
-If you are a driver and spot a turtle crossing the road, stop and carry them to the direction where they are going. Also, contact anyone who is studying turtles, like staff from the zoo.
